General Chapter & New Leadership

In keeping with the mandates of the Constitution of the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro, the General Chapters which occur every six years, took place from November 3 to December 16, 2019 at the Novitiate House at Mailisita, a few miles away from the city of Moshi in Tanzania. CDNK Sisters Open New Dispensary at Katoro District in Mwanza

Sr. Dr. Martine Shayo, a member of the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro (CDNK), from the Catholic Diocese of Moshi, in Tanzania, successfully defended her Doctoral Degree from the Ponttifical Urbanian University in Rome. Her thesis covered, “The Patrimony of an Institute of Consecrated Life with Special Reference to the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro (CDNK) in the light of Canon 578.” {Amana na utajiri wa Mashirika ya Kitawa Mintarafu Shirika la Masista wa Bibi Yetu wa Kilimanjaro, CDNK kulingana na Sheria za Kanisa Namba Namba 578.}

St. Joseph Wells Project

The establishment of the Northwestern Province of the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro (CDNK)

For the first time in the history of The Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro, on July 31, 2018, Sister Theresa Buretta, the Superior General, announced the establishment of the Congregation’s province. The main goal of this province is to facilitate the sisters’ formation, administration and implementation of their missions to all people, especially in the Northwestern part of Tanzania. The Provincial center is located at Igoma in the Catholic Archdiocese of Mwanza. See full story and slideshow

2018 Final Vows

The Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro are thankful to God for the blessing of twelve nuns who consecrated themselves to God by taking their final vows at the Mother House, Huruma Convent in the diocese of Moshi, Tanzania. This occurred on August 5, 2018. See slideshow
