Health

The Congregation works to develop the whole human being in all aspects: spiritually, physically, and mentally.

CDNK is in the process of opening the newest nursing school in the Moshi Diocese, St. Theresa School of Nursing. This will be a diploma, hospital-based school, under the governance of the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro, who are also administrators of St. Joseph Hospital.

Within health sectors, there are:

1. Huruma School of Nursing, Rombo (since 1983)
2. St. Joseph Hospital, Soweto (since 2000)
3. Tumaini Orphanage Centre at Huruma, Rombo
4. Kiraeni Dispensary, Rombo (since 1967 )
5. Mailisita Dispensary, Hai (since 1984)
6. St. Benedict Hospital, Luguruni, Dar es Salaam (since 1998)
7. Tumaini Health Center, Arusha (since 2006)
8. Nkoroi Dispensary, N’gon,g Kenya (since 2007)
9. Katoro Dispensary, Mwanza (since 2020)
10. St. Theresa School of Nursing (opening in 2021)

Members of the Institute are also giving services/administrating in the following Diocesan Hospitals:

2. Bugando Hospital, Mwanza, Tanzania
3. Bukumbi Hospital, Mwanza, Tanzania
4. Kibosho Hospital, Moshi, Tanzania
5. Kilema Hospital, Moshi, Tanzania
6. Minga Hospital, Zambia
7. Lumezi Hospital, Zambia
8. Nzera Health Center, Geita Diocese

We also administer different dispensaries within and outside of Moshi Diocese.

St. Theresa Nursing School Scheduled to open in 2021

This will be a diploma, hospital-based school, under the governance of the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro, who are also administrators of St. Joseph Hospital, which is located next door to the new school.

The St. Theresa School of Nursing will help enormously with the CDNK Sisters goal to improve health care in the area. Graduates of this nursing school will not only be qualified nurses but also midwives. More qualified midwives will help lower infant mortality and prevent death during childbirth.

Funding is urgently needed now to purchase furniture and equipment for classrooms and learning labs. Please consider donating to the St. Theresa nursing school.
